Netflix's New Robert Langdon Series Starts Filming — First Look, Full Cast and What The Secret of Secrets Is About
Netflix's currently untitled Robert Langdon series has started production in Prague. Here's the first-look photo of Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall, the full confirmed cast, and what the show is actually about.

Netflix’s new Robert Langdon series is officially filming in Prague, and the streamer has released the first production image of Morgan Spector as Dan Brown’s Harvard symbologist alongside Rebecca Hall’s Katherine Solomon. The show is set in the world of Brown’s 2025 novel The Secret of Secrets, but Netflix still hasn’t announced an official series title or release date.
Production Has Begun in Prague
Netflix confirmed on September 4 that cameras are rolling on what it’s still calling its “currently untitled series set in the world of Dan Brown’s bestselling The Secret of Secrets,” the sixth novel to feature Robert Langdon. That wording matters: the book is titled The Secret of Secrets, but Netflix has not adopted that as the show’s own title. Until Netflix names it, the accurate way to refer to the project is as its untitled Robert Langdon series.
Prague isn’t an arbitrary production base, either. Brown’s novel itself uses the city as a major setting, so shooting there gives the production real narrative overlap with the source material rather than just a scenic European backdrop.
First Look: Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall
The first-look photo shows Spector and Hall in character on a Prague street, marking the first official production image of Netflix’s version of Langdon. Spector plays Robert Langdon, described by Netflix as the Harvard professor whose knowledge of symbols, religion, art and history keeps pulling him into mysteries with world-altering consequences. No episodes have aired yet, so there’s nothing to judge about the performance itself — only that production is now visibly underway.
Hall plays Katherine Solomon, and showrunner Carlton Cuse has framed her role as a meaningful shift for the character: “For the first time ever, Robert Langdon has a serious love interest — and that changes many of the ways he sees the world,” Cuse told Tudum, calling it “an exciting evolution of the character.” That’s Cuse’s own characterization of this adaptation, not a claim about every relationship across Brown’s wider novels.
The Full Confirmed Cast
Netflix has now named eleven cast members:
- Morgan Spector as Robert Langdon
- Rebecca Hall as Katherine Solomon
- Cherry Jones as Heide Nagel
- Corey Stoll as Everett Finch
- Rob Delaney as Jonas Faukman
- Abbey Lee as Sasha Vesna
- Mamoudou Athie as Michael Harris
- Ben Levi Ross as Alex Conan
- Anamaria Marinca as Dr. Gessner
- Richard Sammel as Karl Muller
- Elena Saurel as Susan Housemore
Netflix hasn’t described most of these supporting roles beyond the character names, so there’s nothing more specific to say about them yet.
What The Secret of Secrets Is About
Netflix’s own logline: Langdon races against ancient forces — and the clock — to rescue a missing scientist and recover her groundbreaking manuscript, whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind. Netflix describes the adaptation as blending futuristic science with mystical lore, along with the international intrigue and history-spanning mysteries that run through Brown’s novels.
That’s the anchor premise Netflix has actually published. The novel itself, published by Doubleday on September 9, 2025, naturally goes into far more plot detail than Netflix’s marketing synopsis does — how much of that detail the series follows, expands or changes hasn’t been addressed, and this isn’t the place to import book-only twists as confirmed screen content.
Morgan Spector Is the Third Screen Langdon
Spector isn’t picking up a role that’s never been played before. Tom Hanks originated Langdon on screen across three Ron Howard films — The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno. Peacock later cast Ashley Zukerman as a younger Langdon in 2021’s The Lost Symbol, a prequel series that ran one season before its cancellation.
| Adaptation | Robert Langdon actor |
|---|---|
| The Da Vinci Code | Tom Hanks |
| Angels & Demons | Tom Hanks |
| Inferno | Tom Hanks |
| The Lost Symbol (Peacock) | Ashley Zukerman |
| Netflix’s untitled series | Morgan Spector |
Netflix hasn’t linked its version to either previous continuity. Spector is playing Netflix’s own take on the character, not a confirmed older version of Zukerman’s Langdon or a continuation of Hanks’ film performances — there’s no indication the three are meant to share a timeline.
Who’s Making the Series
Dan Brown and Carlton Cuse are co-creators. Cuse — known for Lost, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Bates Motel — serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer, while Brown executive produces alongside Emma Forman for Genre Arts and Zoe Robyn. Cuse has described the project as an “eight-hour series,” a description of the story’s intended scope rather than a formally announced episode count — Netflix hasn’t confirmed how many episodes make up the season.
What Netflix Still Hasn’t Announced
The series remains untitled, with no release date. There’s no confirmed episode count beyond Cuse’s “eight-hour series” framing, no word on Tom Hanks having any involvement in this version, and no indication of how closely the season will track the novel’s plot. Netflix says only to expect more details as production continues.
