World of Warcraft’s The Last Titan received a new COLOSSAL teaser at BlizzCon 2026. Blizzard connects the expansion to Northrend and the next stage of the Worldsoul Saga, while placing a fuller reveal after Midnight: Eclipse.

Northrend Is Confirmed; a Zone List Is Not

Blizzard’s round-up presents The Last Titan as more than a return to Northrend. The official teaser description places the reveal among the region’s snowy peaks. That establishes the setting without supplying a launch-zone roster, raid list or reconstruction of every location from Wrath of the Lich King.

The teaser’s title and promotion emphasize scale. They do not identify the colossal figure as a particular member of the Titan pantheon. Naming it as Aman’Thul, Sargeras or Azeroth would require Blizzard’s character identification, rather than an inference from a silhouette or the expansion’s name.

Eclipse Supplies the Narrative Handoff

The same announcement identifies Midnight: Eclipse as patch 12.2, with a confrontation involving Xal’atath at the Worldcore. Blizzard connects a revelation at the end of that chapter to The Last Titan. This is an announced story handoff, rather than two unrelated releases next to each other on a schedule.

That connection explains why fuller details follow Eclipse’s events. It gives players an order for the information to arrive while preserving the revelation itself. The teaser and round-up do not establish its outcome or what it means for every character.

What “Early Next Year” Actually Dates

InformationWhat the checked announcement supports
New teaserPresented at BlizzCon 2026
Narrative lead-inMidnight: Eclipse, patch 12.2
Fuller Last Titan detailsEarly 2027, after Eclipse’s events
Expansion launchNo exact date in the checked Blizzard round-up
Alpha or beta accessNo timing in that announcement

The promise of new information helps readers follow the reveal, but it is not an early-2027 launch commitment. A cinematic promotion also does not establish playable systems or encounter design. Readers planning a purchase or return need the later gameplay and release announcements for those decisions.

Correction, October 1: This article previously connected Blizzard’s “early next year” wording to the expansion’s release window. The phrase dates further details, not launch. Unsupported scene-level identifications and repeated speculation have been removed; the guide separates setting, story connection and reveal timing.
