Paramount Pictures is reportedly developing a live-action film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and CD PROJEKT RED producing. TheWrap reported the project on October 8, naming the Transformers producer and the game developer as producers on the adaptation.

CD PROJEKT RED co-CEO Michał Nowakowski subsequently described Paramount as a “future partner” who shared the company’s creative ambitions for Cyberpunk. His statement, reproduced by Gematsu, said more details would follow at the appropriate time. That supports the reported direction without establishing a completed production deal or a filming start.

Is it adapting V’s story?

The reported project is set in the game’s universe, but its plot has not been announced. There is no confirmed decision to retell V’s story, use a new protagonist or follow a particular game ending.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world action RPG set in Night City, where players control the mercenary V. Corporate power, extreme inequality and cybernetic technology shape that setting. Those details describe the source game; they are not an announced film synopsis.

Is Keanu Reeves in the movie?

No film casting has been announced. Reeves’ appearance in the game does not establish a role in the Paramount project. TheWrap specifically notes that his possible return for the movie remains unknown.

A director, screenwriter, production schedule and release date have also not been announced. There is no verified official movie trailer to watch yet, and the game’s promotional videos should not be treated as film footage.

The live-action report is separate from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the franchise’s anime project. Its cast, footage and Netflix release information do not establish anything about the Paramount film.
