Daredevil: Born Again will end with its third season. Marvel’s October 8, 2026, New York Comic Con panel identified Season 3 as the final season, according to Jeremy Mathai’s first-hand /Film coverage and GamesRadar+‘s reporting from the room. The Disney+ season remains due in 2027; an exact premiere day has not been verified.

Update, October 9, 2026: This article originally described the ending as trade reporting without a public Marvel announcement. The NYCC panel has now confirmed the final-season status. The original publication date and URL are retained.

What changed between September and NYCC?

The Hollywood Reporter and TheWrap reported on September 21 that Season 3 would end the series. THR said Marvel declined comment. That was the basis for this article’s original distinction between reporting and a studio announcement.

Vincent D’Onofrio subsequently called it the final season in a September 23 social post, reproduced in Nerdist’s September 24 article. That was a cast statement. The October 8 panel is the later studio-event confirmation, documented by reporters present at NYCC.

Those stages should not be collapsed into one announcement. The September reporting was credible; the earlier wording that Marvel had not publicly confirmed the ending is now outdated and has been corrected.

What was shown at New York Comic Con?

Marvel brought the cast together on stage and screened Season 3 footage for attendees. /Film reported that the footage reunited the Defenders, while Marvel Studios’ own post documented Charlie Cox, Finn Jones and Krysten Ritter on the NYCC stage.

That footage was a panel presentation. No original public Season 3 trailer upload has been verified for this update, so there is no trailer embed here. Detailed scene descriptions could spoil the previous season and have been left out of this spoiler-free news article.

What about Dario Scardapane’s departure?

The September trades reported that showrunner Dario Scardapane’s contract expired and was not renewed, with Season 3 in post-production. THR said it was unclear who would complete the season. The NYCC final-season confirmation does not independently explain that staffing decision.

No successor or cause has been verified in the checked announcements. A contract ending does not establish a creative dispute, a budget problem or a ratings explanation.

Is Charlie Cox finished as Daredevil?

The series ending does not automatically end Cox’s role across Marvel projects. The checked announcements do not establish his departure from the character, a separate Defenders series or another future Daredevil project. Each would need its own confirmation.

An exact 2027 release date, episode total and publicly released Season 3 trailer also remain unverified. For other Marvel Television coverage, see our VisionQuest guide and VisionQuest watch order.
