Netflix has expanded the cast of its Icebreaker adaptation. Daisy Jelley and Connor Simos remain the leads, while a September 29 Tudum update confirms six more actors and their characters. Netflix has not announced a premiere date.

What is the series about?

Netflix’s official premise places the two athletes on a shared rink after an accident forces their teams together. Stassie is a transfer student pursuing Olympic-level figure skating; Nate is a hockey star chasing the NHL. Their competitive goals and unwanted proximity drive the romance. The series is based on the first book in Grace’s Maple Hills sequence. Netflix has not said the show will reproduce every scene from the novel or adapt the later books.

Netflix says Icebreaker spent 70 consecutive weeks on The New York Times bestseller list and has sold nearly five million copies worldwide. It also cites translations into 24 languages and distribution across 34 territories. Those figures are Netflix’s description of the book, not a forecast for the show’s audience.

Who is making Icebreaker?

Amanda Lasher is the showrunner, writer and executive producer. Jade Bartlett is the creator and an executive producer; Netflix also identifies her as a writer. The streamer names Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre with Unwell Productions among the executive producers. These are the current credits in Netflix’s announcement, without assuming roles for anyone else mentioned in earlier development coverage.

When does Icebreaker release on Netflix?

There is no announced release date or window. Netflix has not given an episode count or a confirmed production timetable in this cast update. Speculation about a 2027 premiere should not be treated as a Netflix announcement. This page will be updated when the streamer provides verified production or release information.
