Roger Jr. joins Tekken 8 on November 12, 2026 for Season 3 Pass holders, followed by general DLC access on November 17. Bandai Namco’s October 12 announcements pair those dates with a gameplay trailer revealed at Evo France and a first in-game look at Baki guest fighter Yujiro Hanma.

Roger Jr. is Season 3’s third playable addition, following Kunimitsu and Bob. The reveal brings back the kangaroo fighter introduced in Tekken 5, fighting from his mother’s pouch, with a style the publisher calls Commando Wrestling.

When can you play Roger Jr.?

AccessPublisher-announced dateWhat you need
Early accessNovember 12, 2026Tekken 8 and the Season 3 Pass
General DLC accessNovember 17, 2026Tekken 8 and an eligible purchase of Roger Jr., including the individual DLC

The distinction matters: general access does not mean a free character for every player. Bandai Namco’s Japanese announcement explicitly says that acquiring Roger Jr. requires either the Season 3 Pass or the standalone DLC.

The publisher’s American and European announcements both list November 12 and November 17; its Japanese release lists the same dates. Those are the dates to use when planning around the release. The announcements do not provide one worldwide unlock hour, so check the relevant platform’s listing for the actual availability time in your territory.

Tekken 8 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. That platform list describes the game; it does not establish identical DLC-store availability or pricing in every market. You can also follow the dated DLC entries in our release calendar.

What the gameplay reveal establishes

Bandai Namco describes Roger Jr.’s combat around powerful attacks and pro-wrestling throws. The Japanese release adds that he is a close-range attacker whose pressure draws on multiple stances and strong throws. These are the publisher’s descriptions, rather than conclusions from independent hands-on testing.

There is a family misunderstanding behind his return. After trouble involving Roger Jr.’s father and a G Corporation facility, Roger Jr. and his mother are mistaken for the culprits. Pursued by attackers, they set out to confront G Corporation’s leadership. The English announcement presents that manhunt as the motivation for their fight.

The official video above is the original upload from tekkenchannel, linked by Bandai Namco’s Japanese announcement. It was uploaded on October 11, ahead of the October 12 written release. A trailer can show the character’s presentation and attacks, but it is not a substitute for final balance information or a full published move list.

Yujiro Hanma’s next reveal has a date

The Evo France reveal also introduces Yujiro Hanma’s in-game appearance. Bandai Namco plans to show his gameplay trailer at the Tekken World Tour Finals on January 17, 2027, with the Japanese announcement placing the event in Singapore.

That is a date for the next gameplay reveal, not Yujiro’s DLC release date. The Japanese publisher release still gives early 2027 as his release window and identifies him as Season 3’s fourth and final playable character. It does not announce an exact launch day or a complete moveset.

For now, Roger Jr. is the addition with two concrete access dates. Yujiro has an announced window and a scheduled next reveal; keeping those separate avoids treating an event appearance as a playable release. Browse our gaming coverage for more verified game and DLC announcements.
