Peacock’s The Good Daughter teaser introduces Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy as Samantha and Charlotte Quinn, sisters drawn back into the violence that fractured their family twenty years earlier. The Karin Slaughter adaptation is a six-episode limited series, with a November 12, 2026 US premiere on Peacock.

The New Case Reopens the Family Story

Sky’s official synopsis identifies Charlotte, now a lawyer like her father, as the first witness to a new attack in Pikeville. Samantha and Charlotte have spent two decades dealing with an earlier night of violence. The case brings memories and family secrets into their present lives.

The premise links two questions: what happened in the new attack, and why investigating it unsettles this family. Charlotte’s professional role also puts her inside the case rather than making the sisters detached observers. This is the connection established by the synopsis; it does not disclose the culprit or the final relationship between the incidents.

The Novel’s Author Writes the Series

Karin Slaughter is writer of all episodes, showrunner and executive producer. Steph Green directs all episodes. The production comes from Made Up Stories and Fifth Season, with the latter handling international distribution.

Those credits identify who is responsible for the adaptation. They do not guarantee that every event in Slaughter’s novel occurs unchanged on screen. The shared sister-and-case premise explains the teaser without importing the book’s later solutions into a television story that has not yet premiered.

Byrne and Fahy lead a cast that Sky lists alongside Brendan Gleeson, Olivia Williams, Harper Steele, Michael Dorman, Audrey Grace Marshall and Drew Cheek. The announcement does not assign a character to every performer, so billing alone cannot establish their involvement in either attack.

US and UK Dates Have Different Precision

United StatesPeacockNovember 12, 2026, confirmed by NBCUniversal and the official teaser
United Kingdom and IrelandSky and NOWNovember 2026, according to Sky’s announcement

Peacock’s exact US date should not be copied into the UK row as though Sky had announced the same day. Likewise, the six-episode format establishes the series’ length, but the checked primary announcements do not specify that all episodes arrive at once.

Correction, October 1: The unsupported same-day six-episode rollout claim has been removed. Author involvement is described through verified credits rather than treated as evidence of guaranteed adaptation fidelity.
