The World's Finest Assassin Season 2 Premieres in January 2027 — New Trailer Confirms Crunchyroll Streaming

The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat Season 2 will premiere in January 2027, and Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the sequel internationally as it airs. The new trailer also introduces Epona — the Hero at the center of Lugh’s original assassination mission — and Neusch.

Season 2 Finally Has a January 2027 Window

Season 2 has technically been in motion since September 2023, when it was first announced. That announcement sat without a real timeframe for years. April 23, 2026 narrowed it to “2027,” and now, per the official Ansatsu Kizoku anime site, the broadcast window is specifically January 2027. There’s still no exact premiere date and no confirmed episode count — anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.

Crunchyroll Streaming Is Already Confirmed

Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream Season 2 as it airs across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS — the same footprint the platform already holds for Season 1. That’s a real commitment, not a placeholder logo on a press slide. What hasn’t been confirmed: a Japan release on Crunchyroll, an exact simulcast time, or a same-day dub. Treat those as open questions until Crunchyroll or KADOKAWA says otherwise.

Epona Puts Lugh’s Original Mission Back at the Center

Season 1 set up a single mission handed down by the Goddess: kill the Hero before that Hero brings ruin to humanity. Season 2 gives that mission a face. Epona, voiced by Sumire Uesaka, is officially described as the Hero — the eldest son of the Baron Rhiannon family — which makes Epona the person Lugh was sent into this world to assassinate.

That’s the premise the trailer confirms, and it’s worth being precise about what it doesn’t confirm. Nothing in official material says Epona turns villainous, that Lugh succeeds, or that the two even meet by the end of the season. The trailer establishes the assignment, not the outcome.

Who Is Neusch?

The trailer’s other new introduction is Neusch, voiced by Tonozaki Yuusuke — heir to the Duke Geffis family, and someone who wants Lugh and Tarte as his own future subordinates. That’s the extent of what’s been confirmed about him: a well-connected classmate angling to recruit two of the story’s assassins into his own service, introduced alongside Epona in the same academy setting the new footage takes place in.

Which Staff and Cast Are Returning?

Behind the camera, Season 2 keeps its Season 1 team: director Masafumi Tamura, series composition by Katsuhiko Takayama, character design by Eri Osada, music by Kenichi Kuroda, and animation production once again handled by SILVER LINK. On the cast side, Lugh (Kenji Akabane), Tarte (Yuki Takada), Dia (Reina Ueda) and Maha (Shino Shimoji) are all confirmed back, joined now by Sumire Uesaka as Epona and Tonozaki Yuusuke as Neusch.

What Still Hasn’t Been Announced

An exact premiere date, episode count, and simulcast time all remain unconfirmed. The trailer’s academy-setting footage points toward the arc of the source material covering Lugh’s time at the royal knight academy, but neither KADOKAWA nor SILVER LINK. has mapped that to specific light novel volumes or an episode range, so treat any precise adaptation breakdown you see elsewhere as speculation rather than confirmed scope.
