Keroro Gunso☆ brings Sgt. Frog back in a new TV production with a recast Keroro Platoon. Bandai Namco Pictures’ official series page confirms a Saturday, October 3, 2026 premiere at 9:30 a.m. JST, on TV Tokyo’s six-station network.

The New Voices, Character by Character

The September 7 studio announcement introduced five new actors for the platoon. The current official page also identifies the Hinata siblings, giving viewers a clearer picture of the household at the center of the comedy.

GiroroToshiki Masuda

Natsumi HinataMinori Fujidera

These credits establish who performs the characters in this series. They do not supply a reason for the casting change or a replacement policy for the franchise’s earlier productions.

A Familiar Starting Point, Without a Continuity Label

The studio’s synopsis begins with Keroro attempting to infiltrate the Hinata home as part of his mission to invade Earth. Fuyuki and Natsumi discover him; after the invasion force withdraws and leaves him behind, he stays with their family. The joke is built into that arrangement: an aspiring conqueror becomes a member of the household he was supposed to help conquer.

That synopsis reintroduces the central relationship, making the character guide useful even for viewers unfamiliar with the old show. It does not specify whether individual episodes remake earlier stories or whether previous adventures remain part of this version’s continuity. The new production should therefore be identified by its own title rather than assigned a remake or sequel label the studio has not supplied.

Broadcast and Production

Nobuhiro Kondo is chief director, Satohiko Sano directs, Toshimitsu Takeuchi handles series composition, and Hatsue Nakayama designs the characters. BN Pictures produces with animation production by Bridge and Aisle, adapting Mine Yoshizaki’s manga.

The confirmed 9:30 a.m. slot is Japanese television information. The official page checked on October 1 does not identify an international streaming service. A catalog listing for an older Sgt. Frog series would not establish access to this production.

Correction, October 1: This article previously described the return as the first new TV anime since 2011 despite acknowledging a 2014 production. That absolute claim has been removed. Expired September announcement and screening plans have also been removed; their original announcement alone did not establish that those events occurred.
