What the September Announcement Established

Season 2 has been confirmed since July 2025, and an October 2026 broadcast window has been public since June 2026. What Black Clover’s official site added on September 7 is the specific date, the specific broadcast time, and the specific ending theme — the details that turn “sometime in October” into an actual date on a calendar. The current official Japanese schedule now lists Anime Times, Lemino, U-NEXT and Anime Hōdai from October 4 at noon JST, followed by a broader rollout from October 8 at noon. Those are Japanese streaming schedules, distinct from Crunchyroll’s subtitle launch.

Crunchyroll’s Time, Local Conversions and Territories

Crunchyroll’s 8:00 a.m. PT announcement refers to the subtitled release. On October 3, Pacific Time is PDT (UTC−7), so the same instant is:

LocationOctober 3 subtitle release time
U.S. Pacific8:00 a.m. PDT
U.S. Eastern11:00 a.m. EDT
UTC15:00
United Kingdom16:00 BST
Central European summer time17:00 CEST

These are conversions of Crunchyroll’s announced time, not separate local announcements. TV Tokyo’s 11:00 p.m. JST broadcast is an hour earlier, at 14:00 UTC.

The October 2 notice lists the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It does not establish Crunchyroll availability in Japan or every Asian market. Local catalog availability still depends on the announced territories.

More Than Five Years Off the Air

Black Clover’s original TV run began in 2017 and closed out at 170 episodes in March 2021. The franchise didn’t disappear in between — 2023 brought the theatrical film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, also directed by Ayataka Tanemura, who returns for Season 2 alongside Studio Pierrot. That continuity matters here: this isn’t a new studio or director inheriting someone else’s unfinished story, but the same creative team picking the series back up.

Series regulars are also confirmed returning, including Gakuto Kajiwara as Asta, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Yuno, Junichi Suwabe as Yami, Kana Yuki as Noelle, and Hiro Shimono as Nacht.

Where the Story Picks Up

Season 1 ended mid-arc, well short of where Yuki Tabata’s manga eventually finished. That manga concluded its run in spring 2026 after eleven years, closing out Asta and Yuno’s story. Black Clover’s official announcement hasn’t said how much of that remaining story Season 2 covers or whether it’s positioned as the anime’s final stretch — the manga wrapping up doesn’t by itself confirm how far this season goes, so there’s no reason to expect it closes out the whole series in one run.

What’s Still Unconfirmed

An episode count and the full extent of the story covered this season remain unannounced in the official material checked. Crunchyroll’s current Fall 2026 lineup lists the dub airtime as TBA; the October 2 timing notice covers subtitles. It also does not establish distribution in territories outside its listed regions.

Black Clover’s return lands in a crowded season for anime comebacks — Sgt. Frog also premieres its new TV series October 3, and Dragon Ball Super’s Beerus arc follows just over a week later.
