Noah Jupe Reportedly Joins Avengers: Secret Wars in Mystery Role — Here's What's Actually Confirmed
Deadline and Variety both report Noah Jupe has joined Avengers: Secret Wars, with Deadline calling it a key role. His character hasn't been disclosed, and Marvel has had no comment.

Two major trades now report that Noah Jupe has joined Avengers: Secret Wars, but his character hasn’t been disclosed. Deadline calls it a key role; Marvel Studios has had no comment on who he’s actually playing.
What’s actually been reported
Deadline broke the news on September 1, 2026, citing sources who say Jupe has been tapped for a role in Secret Wars, with production expected to begin later this year. Variety independently confirmed the casting the same day. Both outlets describe the part the same way Deadline first framed it: unknown, but expected to be significant to the story.
Marvel Studios has not commented. There’s no official cast announcement on Marvel.com, no press release, and nothing from Kevin Feige or the Russo brothers naming a character. What exists right now is trade reporting that Jupe is joining the film — not a studio confirmation of who he’ll play.
“Key role” is not a character reveal
It’s worth being precise about what Deadline’s phrasing does and doesn’t tell you. Describing the role as “expected to play a key part in the story” is a statement about the character’s narrative weight, not their identity. It doesn’t confirm a name, a team affiliation, or a comic-book counterpart. Until Marvel or a trade reports an actual character name, that’s the entire extent of what’s known.
The secrecy has naturally prompted fan theories, but none currently has reliable sourcing.
Where this leaves things after Doomsday
Secret Wars follows Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently dated for December 18, 2026, with Secret Wars itself set for December 17, 2027. Anthony and Joe Russo are directing both films, and Kevin Feige is producing. Jupe’s casting doesn’t automatically say anything about Doomsday’s cast crossing over — Marvel has only confirmed him for Secret Wars, and nothing reported so far ties him to the earlier film.
Jupe himself has had a busy stretch: he recently starred opposite Sadie Sink in a West End revival of Romeo & Juliet, co-starred in the Oscar-winning Hamnet, appeared in Season 2 of The Night Manager, and has just wrapped production on A Quiet Place Part 3.
Why the comics don’t solve this
Marvel’s comics have told multiple stories under the Secret Wars name, most notably Jonathan Hickman’s 2015 event built around Battleworld and the aftermath of an incursion crisis. It’s tempting to use that history to guess who Jupe might be playing, but Marvel hasn’t said the MCU film adapts that story directly, and nothing about Battleworld or any specific comic character guarantees a particular casting choice here. For more on the villain most directly tied to this corner of Marvel’s story, see our explainer on who Doctor Doom actually is, and on the dynamic driving Doomsday’s central conflict, why Doctor Doom hates Reed Richards.
What would actually confirm this
Right now, this is a two-trade casting report, not an announcement. Genuine confirmation would look like Marvel Studios naming Jupe in an official cast list, a Marvel.com update, or Feige/the Russos addressing his role directly — or a trade report that goes further than “key role” and actually names the character. Until one of those happens, treat any specific character claim about Noah Jupe in Secret Wars as unconfirmed.
