TOUGEN ANKI’s Nikko Kegon Falls Arc begins October 2, 2026 at 11:30 p.m. JST on Nippon Television’s nationwide 30-station Friday Anime Night block. The official series site links its September 19 arc PV directly, confirming the video’s origin as well as the date, new cast and theme songs.

A Conflict Within the Oni Side

The official arc introduction follows Shiki and the Rasetsu Academy students after the Kyoto and Nerima battles. Ikari clashes with Mudano’s emphasis on comrades and leaves to follow the Oni Brigade’s mission against the Momotaro. Shiki realizes the brigade’s approach also targets noncombatants and sets out with the others to pursue him.

That changes the immediate problem: opposing the Momotaro does not make every Oni group share the same methods. The journey leads to Nikko, where the synopsis places a large research facility at Kegon Falls. This is the published starting situation, not an account of how the conflict ends or what the experiments ultimately produce.

Japanese Broadcast and Streaming Are Staggered

The official schedule distinguishes television from domestic streaming, including late-night notation that crosses into the next calendar day.

Japanese outletAnnounced first availability in JST
NTV networkOctober 2, 11:30 p.m.
ABEMA, dAnime Store, U-NEXT and Anime HodaiOctober 2 at 24:30 — October 3, 12:30 a.m.
BS Nippon TVOctober 5, 11:30 p.m.
Wider Japanese services, including Netflix and Prime VideoOctober 5 at 24:30 — October 6, 12:30 a.m.; rollout varies by platform

A platform appearing in Japan’s list is not proof that its catalogs in every country carry the same arc at the same time. Crunchyroll’s fall lineup separately lists the arc for October 2, with availability worldwide excluding Japan and China. The exact subtitle airtime is marked TBA in the checked listing.

Three Momotaro Cast Additions

The new cast members are Kenichi Suzumura as Kusabi Momoura, Yuki Kaji as Hizumi Momotsugi and Kisho Taniyama as Senritsu Momoo. Their Momotaro-side affiliation places them opposite the Oni characters; the announcement does not reveal every character’s role in the conflict.

Hiromitsu Kitayama performs “BACKLASH,” the opening, and TRACK15 performs “Te to Te” (手と手), the ending. Ato Nonaka directs, Yukie Sugawara handles series composition and scripts, Kohta Yamamoto composes the score, and Studio Hibari animates.

Correction, October 1: Japanese streaming follows the official staggered schedule rather than a blanket day-and-date claim. The unverified April 2027 second-cour statement and expired recap plans have been removed. The PV’s origin is now established through the series website.

See Suikoden’s October premiere guide for another upcoming adaptation.
